✪ Coral Sea History ✪
July 24, 1967 - USS Coral Sea was adopted by the city of San Francisco and became known as San Franciscos Own.
July 24, 1964 - USS Coral Sea established a peace time record 536 arrested landings in 18 hours and fifty-six minutes. To qualify 375 pilots for day and 161 for night landings, the carrier trapped an aircraft on the average every 2.12 minutes.
