✪ Coral Sea History ✪
July 28, 1949 - USS Coral Sea visited Colon, Panama. The large carrier needed four tugs to place her at the docks, but only two were available. The two tugs steered the carriers bow, while aircraft chained to the flight deck with their engines running pushed. The planes provided more than enough thrust, and before the tugs could get her stopped, the ship smashed into the pier.
